Community Scores i

Community Scores

Community scores operate on a 1–5 scale, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. All results are based on statistics from MLS®, the City of Edmonton Open Data Catalogue, and other sources.

A high Homes score means you’ll find a lot of available real estate listings in that neighbourhood.
A high Family score means you’ll be close to schools and playgrounds, and everything is within walking and transit distance.
A high Safety score means bylaw violations and traffic accident rates are low, and you’ll be close to emergency services.
A high Recreation score means you’ll be close to sports and recreation areas.
A high Lifestyle score means you’ll be close to shopping and entertainment.

Strathearn is roughly a triangle shaped residential neighborhood in south central Edmonton. The neighborhood is bound to the south west by Connors Road, on the east by 85th street and the north west by the North Saskatchewan River valley.  At its’ northern and western boundaries, Strathearn is perched atop the North Saskatchewan River Valley. This location affords easy access to the river valley park system and provides commanding views of the cityscape from vantage points along Strathearn Drive and Strathearn Crescent.

Currently, the community of Strathearn consists of approximately 50% single family residences and the other half multi-family apartment living.

In 2008 the City of Edmonton approved a large scale rezoning of Strathearn Heights, a 50 year old large scale multi-family apartment complex. This redevelopment includes key features such as: 100% increase in current green space, including an Urban Plaza, transit oriented development to incorporate the new Valley Line LRT crossing through the Strathearn Community, staggered building heights to provide aesthetic transition between buildings as well as adding space for an urban grocer and two new Transit Plazas.

A celebration of art and community, the Strathearn Art Walk is a free annual event in the beautiful Strathearn Park. Visit the 110+ artists, listen to live music, stay for lunch or dinner or entertain the kids in the Kidz Zone. Strathearn Community league is an active community with excellent programming. In early 2017, they will commence the construction of a new Community Hall in Silver Heights Park to maximize existing green space, encourage walkability and capture daylight in the summer evenings, all without disturbing a single tree.
